Many fishermen look towards saltwater fishing for a more fast-paced and exciting fishing experience than it’s lake fishing counterpart. Whether you’re deep sea fishing or just out in your boat looking for that trophy fish, saltwater fishing provides fishers of all ages and skill levels with a day of thrills and fun. AllSaltwaterFishing wants to help make your day on the water as enjoyable as possible which is why we offer a large selection of quality fishing gear and accessories designed with the saltwater fisherman in mind.

Many beginner saltwater fishers prefer to fish using the spincasting reels because they are easy to handle and very effective when fishing for panfish such as bluegill and crappie. Spincasting reels are often called fixed spool reels because they use a fixed spool for lighter lures as well as a thumb operated casting system, which allows you to easily release the fishing line. Another advantage of spincasting reels is that the spool is enclosed at the top of the reel, which makes it easier to keep your fishing line from tangling.

Another popular saltwater fishing reel is the baitcasting reel. Baitcasting reels are able to handle heavier lures than spincasting reels, which makes them a good choice when fishing for larger fish. Baitcasting reels are popular among fishers who prefer trolling for saltwater fish because they have a high retrieval ratio, which will allow you to more quickly reel in your line once a fish has taken hold. Baitcasting reels are often referred to as multiplier reels because the spool of fishing line will rotate multiple times per one turn of the handle.

While monofilament fishing line is a favorite among most fishermen, the majority of saltwater fishers prefer to use fluorocarbon fishing line because it does not absorb water, which makes it less likely to weaken and stretch in comparison with braided and monofilament fishing lines. Another advantage of fluorocarbon fishing lines is that they are less visible when underwater, which will help them not spook the fish away.

The fluorocarbon line was first developed in Japan but has grown to be used by fishermen from around the world. Used primarily for saltwater fishing and fly fishing the fluorocarbon fishing line is nearly invisible in water and does not absorb water like monofilament and braided fishing lines. Because they do not absorb water, fluorocarbon fishing lines are less likely to weaken and stretch compared to other fishing lines.

Regardless of whether you prefer spincasting or baitcasting fishing reels, most saltwater fishing reels and equipment are made of metal parts because saltwater will corrode iron, steel and aluminum fishing parts over time. AllSaltwaterFishing understands that the sport of saltwater fishing requires specialized fishing gear, which is why we offer a wide variety of quality fishing gear such as fishing rods, reels and lines from some of the top names in the world of fishing.
